I can't believe it's already June. Where does the year go? I must admit I'm enjoying the warmer weather, even though I feel guilty about that. I live in British Columbia and the forest fires have started early this year.

RICH MEN, DEAD MEN has been out for two months now and has just passed 300,000 KU page reads. It's got close to 200 reviews and ratings with over 70% at 5 stars. I've been overwhelmed with the response, to be honest.

I've also signed a deal for audiobooks to be produced and I am absolutely thrilled to say Colin Mace, my favourite narrator, is going to be telling DI Wise's tales. He's recorded all of Lynda la Plante's Trial and Retribution series and Tony Parsons' DC Wolfe novels. The first should be out next month and book 2 in September.

THE KILLING GAME is coming along nicely too and my thoughts have started to drift occasionally to book 3...

So much goes into the writing of a book that's more than just writing. Yes, there's the editing, proof reading and cover design and marketing and all that stuff, but more importantly, there's a sense of belief that you can do this writing thing, that you have a story worth telling with characters that are interesting. There's hope too — that something you love writing will do well enough for you to continue to do this for a living.

Well, RICH MEN, DEAD MEN has been out for 6 weeks so far and has done incredibly well all things considered. It's got 128 ratings with a 4.6 out 5 star average and today it'll probably achieve 200,000 Kindle Unlimited page reads. That's 450 copies of the book read so far. That's on top of the 500 copies we've sold so far.

Pre-orders too are coming in for book 2, THE KILLING GAME, which is even more encouraging. (Especially since I'm close to finishing that book!) It's going to be out on 24th July. Book 3, LONDON'S DYING, hopefully will be out in October as well.
